As TFA High Fashion Workshop opens with Empowerment Conference

As the Toronto Fashion Academy (TFA) commenced earlier today in Lagos with hours of discourse which saw organizers,  facilitators and participants interact on professional fashion business, the challenges, opportunities and prospects of the industry. The session which was tagged Empowerment Conference attracted participants from the country's capital - Abuja, Lagos, Kano, Niger, Kwara and major higher institutions in the country. Basically, fashion styling/design, modelling, fashion photography and fashion make up -  the categories of the TFA workshops - dominated the discussion. The focus of discourse looked at taking our local fashion and products  beyond the shores of Nigeria especially the African fabrics. Elaborately, the facilitators also examined how Nigerian fashion designers can work effectively with the Nigerian fashion designers in the diaspora in a bid to reach diverse markets globally. ...as Master classes hold in Lagos April The Toronto Fashion Academy (TFA) application for free internship is now open for entry. Meanwhile, TFA in partnership with Nigeria is set to hold a weeklong Intensive Certificate Master Class at the Nigeria Edition of International Fashion Encounter 2018.  The programme tagged Fashion 101 is scheduled to hold in Lagos from Monday April 9 through 14. The project is supported by the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Information and the ministry targets about 1,000 talents in fashion in four key fashion departments namely; styling, modelling, photography and make-up.    Of the 1,000 participants, four applicants  will qualify for a full sponsorship internship opportunity with TFA and participate at International Fashion Encounter Canadian Edition. Leveraging Digital Media: Mass Comm. Students Set to Hold Summit Friday

Mass Communication students of University of Lagos (UNILAG) have  expressed their readiness to a host a multi media and journalism  training tagged "The Academic Summit (TAS 8.0)." The programme which has been scheduled to hold on Friday, 21st July will take place at the J F Ade Ajayi Auditorium (previous known as Main Auditorium) by 9 am prompt.   In a statement issued on Monday in Lagos, the chairman, organizing committee, Olorode Olubunmi noted that the summit seeks to make concerted efforts in making stakeholders in the media industry see how far the media has come, present realities and trends and then projections for the future.  She said the last edition tried to track the tools needed to survive in this ‘Content-thirsty’ age of the media. UNILAG set to hold Professor Ayodele Awojobi Design Competition grand finale Friday

By Miftaudeen Raji, UNILAG  The University of Lagos Engineering Society (ULES) is set to hold the grand finale of its maiden edition of the Professor Ayodele Awojobi Design Competition (PAADC) on Friday July 14 as part of efforts to leverage on this age huge potentials in science and technology.  The chairman planning committee, Mr. Abah Anthony Abah, said in a statement  that the competition grand finale will hold at 9 a.m. at the J. F. Ade Ajayi Auditorium (Main Auditorium) of the University of Lagos, Nigeria. The celebration tagged "Unabashed: Photograph a Child" was organised under the auspices of Slum2School Africa in conjunction with SociallyAfrica and Unabashed photographers. SociallyAfrica and the Unabashed photographers are volunteers who came to paint the schools and photograph the children respectively. According to Malware Tech Blog.As of 13 May, no fewer than 104,118 attacks have been recorded globally.  In what has become a serious nightmare, the ransomware has encrypted data across nearly 100 countries now including US and South American nations. A security researcher going by the handle Malwaretechblog on Twitter was instrumental to mitigating the flow of attacks across the globe. "All of the attacks should be dead by now (from this sample), the infection rate is also dropping to zero due to us killing the malware," MalwareTech told IBTimes UK . Prof. Awojobi Design competition open for entries, May 20 set for deadline

Professor Ayodele Awojobi Design Competition (PAADC) has been declared open for entries for all interested engineering and environmental science students in Nigerian tertiary institutions. According to a statement issued by the University of Lagos Engineering (ULES), PAADC seeks to challenge students to come up with an original and innovative design with a view to proffering solutions to a science and technology problem in Nigeria.  The statement signed by the head Creativity and Ideas for the competition, Mojolaoluwa Keshiro, said the problem has to be categorised under one of nine categories of technology highlighted on the website: ( unilagengr.com.ng/paadc ) He said students from faculty or department associated to the nine sectors highlighted on the website are also eligible for the contest. Keshiro further said applicants are expected to develop designs, using the application of science and technology, to solve a societal problem. How to apply
